SF: Blanka

I have been seeing so many Street Fighter pieces floating around that I got inspired to do my own. I chose Blanka because he was one of my favorites growing up!

I am not a huge gamer, but I feel the Gaming World really took off after this game came out. It changed everything.

Anyway, I thank you for looking. :)

BombFace

This is BombFace. At least, I think?! Monk-Art says that is it until he comes up with a cooler name. Although, I think BombFace is just fine. Anyway, Monk-Art (Fabian Schlaga) (Click for visual awesomeness: [link] ) is an insanely talented digital artist that I came arcoss while floating through the wonderful galleries here on DevArt. This is his character. I thought he was a cool, so I thought I would take a stab at him. It was tons of fun.

Thanks for Looking.

Wolverine

I really wanted to try something new for this one. I wanted to give it a grittier look. Well, as gritty as it gets for my style. Anyway, I had a lot of fun doing this one.

I really must thank the wonderfully talented and kind, John Rauch (EraserX) [link] . He is the man! Not only has he done an amazing coloring tutorial series, but he has also put out an awesome set of brushes. Thanks John.

X-Men

Got to love old school Xmen.

This started out as a doodle and turned into something more. I try and warmup and doodle on a piece of 8.5x11 computer paper. Therefore, it is a smaller piece of paper than I am used to drawing on, so it is lacking some of the detail I would put into a larger piece. However, I liked where it was going so I finished it.

Christmas 2008

Here is the second card I am doing for the Holiday Card 2008 project. I hope this brings a smile to the kids.I know it is still a little early, but Happy Thanksgiving and Merry Christmas everone!
Original:
Santa was a bit menacing, so I lightened him up a little, and added some shadows to distance the boy from Santa, and Santa from the chair. Also, the background looked like something out of Silent Hill Christmas. I totally like this one better. I hope you do too.

Thank You

I am probably the least deserving of all, and yet he still made the sacrifice. Thank you Jesus.
I hadn't drawn the "first" Superhero in a while. I was doing some heavy thinking about him , and got inspired.

Flying Pumpkins

This is just me trying to challenge myself with wacked out funky positions. I hadn't drawn Spidey in a while, so why not use the king of twisted positions for practice.

Thanks for Looking.

Chapulin Colorado

My grandfather loved this guy. We would watch this show all the time growing up. His name is Chapulin Colorado. He was a funny goofy un-superhero on Univision. Anyway, I thought of him the other day and thought he would be fun to draw.

Just had to color this one. I had a little time on my hands, so I decided to color this one. Love Superman. Have I mentioned that before? (heh) :D

I was not a 100% convinced on the background I used up top. I thought I would try something different for fun. If this works or not, I am done with this one. I have spent wwaaay too much time on it. On to the next one.

Happy Halloween '08

My friend Chris aka. FatBoy73 (fatboy73.deviantart.com) contacted me the other day with and itch to do something Halloween. He had a great idea a about role reversal. He wanted pumpkin people, and human Jack 'o Lanterns. I thought it was a great and funny idea, so I came up with this. Happy Halloween. :)

Betty Boop (colored)

Finally! I did this for my Betty Boop freak of a Mom a while back, and I finally got to throw some color on it. I may play with it a touch more before I give it to her, but for the most part it's done. I hope she likes it.

Thanks for looking.

Don't mess with the Frog!

Ever notice how Kermit always tries to stay calm no matter the circumstance. Now you know why. Don't make him angry, you wouldn't like him when he's angry.

DareDevil-SteamPunKed

Bakanekonei (Nei) at DeviantArt was holding a contest ( I just love her work.) The idea was to take a character and give it a steampunked look. I chose DareDevil. It was loads of fun. I always love try to give characters a different twist. Anyway, Here is what I came up with.

SuperFly

I don't know how because I have never even seen it, but I started thinking about an old, old flick called "SuperFly". Maybe it was a song or something that did it? Anyway, I thought it would be funny having a Super-"Fly", so I did this for fun. It was great just drawing to draw. Haven't done that in a while.

The amazing rescue. Yeah! SuperFly! (heh) Just having more fun with the Superfly idea.

Alright, I guess I should get back to real work. Thanks for Looking.

MiSTiCO

I had some free time on my hands, so I started scanning through the galleries of some Awesome artist on Deviantart. I stumbled across Grostieta. Sweet works, amazing colorist. [link]

He colors a comic Mistico. I thought it was cool, so I sketched out a quick pic. Turns out he is real. Go figure, some sort of wrestler. Anyway..

Asajj Ventress

I did this picture for my friend Chris. He is a gifted colorist. He goes by Fatboy73. Look: [link]

Anyway, he wrote me the other day and asked if I could draw him up a Asajj Ventress. I was more than happy to do it. First, he is a great guy, and second, he has been doing an awesome job on my art. It was the first time I had even heard of the character, much less drawn her, so I hope I did her some justice. I hope to have a link to the colored version soon.

G.U.N.S. (preview)

Finally! I get to post some storyboard work. Lately, I have been busy working on a project for VineYard Press called G.U.N.S. by Bruce Brown. It is a great story with even better characters. I did an 8 page story arc for the book. It was tons of fun. This is page 4. The character is Rio, and she is not happy. If you want to see more, the book should be out soon.

I am including the inks just because I love them. They were done by the insanely talented Keith Barnett (aka K.A.Bodle). Dang he is good!

Flash2

It's my Birthday. I am with the family visiting my uncle in North Carolina. It is so beautiful here. I had a little free time in between activities, so I thought I would get some more practice in with Photoshop. I did this one up, and my uncle liked enough that he wanted it for his desktop. It was a lot of fun.

CAP n THOR

Captain America and Thor. These two have got to be my favorite Avengers of all time. I haven't drawn either one in a while, but I was reading Capt. America, and I got an itch. It seems to me as cool as "Bucky" is, he is not the Captain. I had to bring Steve back if only in this drawing.

Something Quick

Something quick ...get it? Flash . Someth...hee ...hmm..umm yeah, OK.

I took a small break from my project and turned on the Olympics. Those athletes are amazing. I do not know why, but the Flash popped into my head. I guess seeing the sprinters did it, I don't know. Anyway, I decided to draw him...really quick. (Sorry, I couldn't help myself. )

Betty Boop

This is kind of sappy, but I drew this for my mom. She is a huge Betty Boop fan. She has everything Boop. I am talking cups, pajamas, plates, purses, etc. I thought I would surprise her with a Betty pic., so I drew one. I have been so busy that I haven't gotten to color it yet, but I thought I would throw the lines up anyway. Maybe after my current project I will get an opening to finish. Anyway, Thanks for Looking. :)

HULK

Another Freakin' Awesome Movie that I just loved. The latest Hulk movie was so well done. It was actually a story instead of a sorry retelling of the Hulk's origin. The special effects were insane. It totally beat out that old green eraser one they did a few years back. Anyway, I thought I would draw my mandatory "that movie was awesome, and I got inspired" picture of the Hulk.

I have always liked this character. The old school Cyclops though. I don't know why, I just do. My brother thinks he's a geek. Anyway, I hadn't drawn him in a while, so I decided to do a quick pic before my next project.

Joker Face

I try to get more acquainted with photoshop when ever I can, and lastnight was a great opportunity, so I took advantage of the time. I wanted to experiment with a couple of different techniques and brushes. It was a lot of fun. This time, the guinea pig was the Joker.
